Richard Florida is a professor of public policy at George Mason University.

He is best known for his work in developing his concept of the creative class and its ramifications in urban regeneration. He received a PhD from Columbia University in 1986 and taught at Carnegie Mellon University from 1987 to 2005. He is the author of the bestselling books:
